The Radiology Department of Xinqiao Hospital of The Third Military Medicine University is entitled by the Academic Degree Committe of State Council to grant master's degree in Radiology.

Among the 35 professional staff of the department, eight are of high professional titles and thirteen of intermediate ones, which ensures its rapid development in teaching and research.

In addition, 4 professors, who respectively hold the post of commissioner or deputy chief commissioner in some radiological committees, enjoy great academic reputation. In recent years,
the teaching and research projects launched by the staff won dozens of awards, including 5
third-class awards granted by Chongqing Municipality, 11 medical treatment awards and 5 teaching awrds. Moreover, the staff produced more than 200 publications, including a monograph "The
Clinical Application of CT" and 10 other ones.

he Radiology Department includes department of X-ray, department of CT, department of intervention and department of MRI and has Sytec 3000 computer tomography , 7000-TS spiral computer tomography , 1250mA digital subtraction angiography(DSA), Digital gastrointestinal apparatus, mammographic machine, Magnetic resonance imaging. Examinations for all of the body can been sufficed with these equipments.

Fluoroscopy of chest and abdomen, X-ray film of body, contrast examination of digestive system and urinary system, hysterosalpingography, mammogram, oral cavity panoramic imaging, computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, digital subtraction angiography and interventional therapy for many diseases can been performed in here.

Interventional radiology including diagnosis and therapy can treat diseases using canal or puncture technique under fluoroscopy and can clarify character of disease obtaining informations of histology, cytology, biochemistry and physiology. The department took the lead in developing interventional therapy in southwest.

Owing to the sedulous efforts of our respectable pioneers, now our department has become one of the first-class department all over the country . We have diagnosed and cured uncountable patients not only from army but also from locality. The department is now preponderant in these domains: (1) diagnosis for congenital heart disease, (2) diagnosis for coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, (3) diagnosis for nerve center, (4) diagnosis for tumor, (5) diagnosis and treat in intervention.

The staff of Radiology Department are patient-oriented and they always whole-heartedly serve the patients and other clinical departments. X-ray, CT or MRI produced here are of high quality and diagnoses are carefully made. One or more professors are consulted in diagnoses, especially when the cases are difficult. Average x-ray can be diagnosed in one hour, average CT or MRI in 24 hours while emergent CT or MRI in two hours. The Radiology Department will provide patients with first-class techniques and services in physical examination, medical consultation and so on.
